I remember Master once said that after initiation into the Quan Yin Method, the Master is always with every initiate, and as long as the Five Precepts are followed, five Angels surround us and protect us. I experienced this during a bus accident.
Once, I traveled to visit my parents in Nepal’s western hilly region. Every time I returned from there, I would leave around 7 AM and could reach the bus stop after a three-hour walk. But this time, something strange happened. What usually took me three hours took me 10 hours, as my feet couldn’t walk the usual distance naturally. I was walking with difficulty as if my feet were tied up like a buffalo’s legs with a rope. Now I realize that it was a sign not to proceed further. Finally, dragging myself along, I reached the bus stand at around 5 PM. I booked seat number one near the door for the next day. But when I boarded the bus the following day, someone was already sitting in my seat, and the staff told me that it was reserved for the bus staff, so I was told to sit at the back. Later, I realized it was all for my own safety. Had I been sitting near the door seat, I might have been severely injured in the bus accident.
The next morning, just as the bus started moving, the driver suddenly shouted to the assistant to place the wooden block to stop the bus. After hearing this, everyone on the bus realized the brakes had failed, and there was panic inside the bus. Who could step out of a moving bus on a narrow, hilly road to place the block and stop the vehicle? The bus began losing control; some people tried to jump out of the windows, and others were running around in fear. The hilly road was narrow and steep, with a river below – there seemed to be no chance of survival. Yet, in that situation, I was surprised to find my mind completely calm.
I remembered Master’s words that at the time of death, neither property nor relatives can help us, only the Master will come to take us Home. I fully closed my eyes and remembered Master. Just then, the bus made a loud crash and hit a large rock near the cliff. Both front wheels came off, and the bus sank into a corner. Surely, it was Master’s Blessing and the Angels’ Grace that made this possible and saved us. No one was seriously injured. Even now, I feel elated recalling how my mind remained calm despite being so close to death and how I remained fully devoted to Master. May Master’s Grace always continue to be upon me.
